Formally known as Empowering Queens, began as an idea in 2013 but was officially founded in 2015, by I’Asia Gee. Due to life altering experiences I’Asia faced, when she enrolled in Fairleigh Dickinson University, she decided it best to surround herself with a group of motivated and liberated women, her sorority Phi Sigma Sigma. From there, I’Asia realized she had a passion to make a lasting impact in the lives of women.
I’Asia is an advocate for women and designs programs to help them achieve their highest version of self. Empowering Her is a leadership program for teenage girls, with values based in Self Esteem and Self Expression. The organization's mission is to inspire the female leaders of tomorrow through developing the proper skills and teaching them about women's issues across the globe.
She is also the creator of Girl Warrior, a clothing line designed to promote the empowerment of women; emphasizing emotional health. Girl Warrior is a storytelling movement that shares the narratives of women anonymously to promote strength and unity between women. I’Asia is also in the process of writing a poetry book scheduled to be released Fall 2019.
Her professional experience encompasses communications, marketing, account management, project management and event planning. She currently works for The New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence where she does media advocacy and communications . I'Asia is a member of the Women of Color Task Force of NJCEDV.
I'Asia has her own freelance brand, Chan's Media and Consulting which services businesses, organizations and innovators.
"See I'm just a lilac tied to the earth
Exuding the fragrance of light and birth
So respect my photosynthesis
My petals, my stems, full of nourishing flow
You thought this was a love song, but no
I just need you to let me grow."- Nitty Scott
